If you are browsing any website and it simply states it has "detected problems" or malware with your Mac, then you can follow these steps:

  • In case you are using Safari or another web browser and get a warning about malicious software, virus, or problems detected, then quit Safari by selecting Safari > Quit. If Safari browser refuses to quit, go for a force-quit the application.
  • After this, go to download folder selection and drag any install files, or files that you don't recognize, to the Trash.
  • Control-Click the Trash symbol and select Empty Trash. By doing this, you will avoid the problem in the first place.
